Get in touch about gas work in London
Use the quick form if you know what you need, or the step by step questions if you would rather be guided. Either way the details go straight through.
While you wait
Smell gas? Do this now
- Get everyone out of the room, and out of the building if the smell is strong.
- Open doors and windows to let the gas out.
- Do not turn light switches or anything electrical on or off, and do not light a flame or smoke.
- Turn off the gas at the emergency control valve by the meter if it is safe to reach. If the meter is in a cellar or basement where the smell is, do not go in.
- Call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 from outside. Their engineer makes the supply safe.
- Once the emergency engineer has given the all clear, call a Gas Safe registered engineer to repair the faulty appliance or pipework.
